Remote Check-In for Boston Airport

Boston’s Logan Airport has added the nation’s first remote terminal.

Passengers arrive at a terminal located approximately 25 miles from the airport. They then check their bags and proceed through TSA security. After clearing security, they wait for the bus in a secure room. The bus then drops them off at the airport gate area.

Passengers do not need to go through security again.

Fuel Surcharges Push Florists to Optimize Deliveries

Fuel price increases affected delivery businesses in general, and florists in particular ahead of Mother’s Day.

Orders for flower deliveries peak in the days ahead of Mother’s Day. Florists also saw increases from flower suppliers, and fuel and other surcharges from other suppliers, which cut into their profit margin.

To adjust for the cost impacts of rising fuel prices, many florists raised their delivery charges and worked to plan delivery routes more efficiently.

Uber and Rivian Partner for Robotaxis

Uber is making an initial investment of $300 million in Rivian to manufacture and deliver 10,000 R2 SUV robotaxis exclusively for Uber’s platform.

The Uber-Rivian robotaxis will start serving customers in San Francisco and Miami in 2028. Uber plans to fund an additional $950 million for Rivian to deliver up to 40,000 more robotaxis starting in 2030.
