McDonald’s Suspends All-Day Breakfast

With the coronavirus pandemic, many restaurants have ceased operations.  Others, such as McDonald’s have closed their dining rooms and continue to sell their product through drive-thru, carry-out, or delivery.  McDonald’s has even waived its delivery fees.

By removing the all-day breakfast items, McDonald’s has simplified its operations.  Further menu reductions may be coming.

1. Why eliminate the all-day breakfast?

Guidance: With added pressure on drive-thru, carry-out, and delivery as a result of the coronavirus, simplifying operations makes sense.  It will allow for the more efficient production of a reduced menu.  It should increase McDonald’s ability to fill orders, and reduce waiting lines.  In many cases, this can be done with fewer workers.
